Frequently asked questions

Is my photo uploaded?
No. The image is read and re-saved entirely in your browser (FileReader + Canvas). It is never sent to a server at any point.
Which data is removed?
All EXIF metadata — including GPS location, camera model, lens, capture date and the software used. The tool shows you what's embedded before removing it.
How does removal work?
The image is redrawn onto a canvas and re-encoded. All metadata is lost in the process — image quality is preserved and orientation is kept.
Is image quality preserved?
Yes. JPGs are re-saved at high quality (92%), PNGs losslessly. There is practically no visible difference.
