Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded?
No. Compression runs entirely in your browser (in a Web Worker). The image is never sent to a server at any point.
How much can I shrink it?
You control quality (30–100%), maximum edge length and the output format — so you get the file exactly as small as you need.
Which formats are supported?
JPG, PNG and WebP as input. You can output in the original format, as JPEG or as WebP (often the smallest).
Is EXIF data kept?
Compression usually removes metadata. If you specifically want to delete GPS/camera data, use the EXIF remover.
